Who am I?
First, thank you for visiting my web site. As you can see, it is an interactive site. You are invited to use the "Talk to Me" message box on the pages of my website, email me, or call me with your questions and comments about real estate. I'll respond with the best information available at the time.
A few words about myself:
I've been helping buyers and sellers reach their real estate objectives here in Americus, Sumter County, Ellaville, Schley County and the surrounding area for 14 years.
Buying and selling real estate can be fun -- or maddening. Sometimes it's a stroll through the park. Other times it's a risky dance through a mine field of problems.
Your real estate broker can be a very helpful companion as you progress from Point A to Point B of your transaction. Sometimes, unfortunately, it's more like negotiating a maze. An experienced guide can help you get through it despite the wrong turns, blank walls and dead ends you may encounter.
To become licensed for the practice of real estate marketing in Georgia, I first had to pass a rigorous pre-license course and exam. Then, to keep my license, I had to pass a post-license course and exam.
Every four years, Georgia real estate practitioners must renew their licenses. This requires them to take 24 hours of continuing education with passing grades. As part of their required education, all licensees must take a refresher course based on the National Association of REALTORS Code of Ethics.
In addition to my required courses, I obtained the GRI designation. Those letters stand for Graduate, REALTOR Institute. This lengthy and comprehensive course of study, taken over a period of 18 months, is a sort of master's level of continuing education for REALTORS. Additionally, I have taken post-GRI courses, and I had to pass the Georgia real estate broker exam to obtain my broker's license.
In February 2008 I completed the Internet technology program of the National Association of REALTORS, and received the designation e-PRO Internet Professional. With more people using the Internet to search for homes and land and real estate agents, and with more real estate business being conducted online, it is imperative that I stay up with the latest Internet technology to serve my customers effectively.
For me, professional education never stops. In fact, it can't stop. The Georgia General Assembly revises our state's body of real estate law annually, and I must keep myself informed of the latest new laws and changes to old laws. This knowledge is especially important for preparing real estate Purchase and Sale Agreements (contracts).
I am a member of the Americus Board of Realtors, the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, the Ellaville-Schley County Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Association of REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS.
